Comment: First Sarasota is a such a wonderful church filled with amazing people. Pastor John and his lovely wife Dawn have such a big heart for people and the community. God is truly moving in this church. They have an amazing kids ministry that is weekly changing little hearts and teaching them about Jesus! They have an awesome youth ministry that is blessing the youth of today and guiding them through life. They have multiple our reach events for people experiencing homelessness. The young adults Bible study is awesome and is such a great place to connect with college age people. This church has so much to offer and has an amazing heart for Gods people. Love! Love! Love!

Comment: My boyfriend and I first attended First Sarasota on Good Friday 2023 and have not left since! We had just moved to the area and were looking for a home church and immediately upon arrival at First Sarasota, we knew this was our church! Everyone was so welcoming and kind and the Holy Spirit was truly present. One year later, we are not only attending service on Sundays, but we are also serving within the church, attending the Thursday night young adult Bible study’s and we have made life long friendships. I was praying for community and God brought me to First Sarasota!

On top of an incredible worship experience, you will be led to The Lord with sound biblical preaching from John Cross. I am a part of the young adult ministry and can say that I have grown so close to Jesus with the accountability and community they provide. Comment: In 2021, My mother and I were looking for a church that is biblically based, has an incredible and loving community, has groups that we can plug into and has an outpour in the community. We came to First Sarasota, heard their vision, heard their mission statement and fell in love. We looked on their website, read their core values and agreed wholeheartedly. It is now 2024 and we are still plugged in, continually ready to serve others, and are blessed to call First Sarasota our church home! God is moving in Sarasota, Florida and is using First Sarasota Baptist Church to reach people and share the good news of the gospel!By FAITH, doing WHATEVER it takes, to make CHRIST KNOWN.

Comment: First Sarasota found our family and we couldn’t be more grateful! Christianity had unfortunately become absent in our lives, and this was exactly the reintroduction we needed.Our children love going to Sunday school, and my wife and I look forward to the Modern Service every Sunday. Pastor John delivers a phenomenal, relatable message and the extremely-talented musicians and singers perform their hearts out.This isn’t “church,” its a community of amazing people - that we’re truly blessed to be a part of.

This beautiful church is Christ-centered and scripturally sound.Senior Pastor, Dr. John Cross is anointed with an exceptional ability to convey scripture in layman’s terms. His sermons help people understand God’s promises and their role as Christians in a modern world. His wife, Dawn is lovely and their church family is warm and welcoming. Sermons are available in person, on-line and televised on the ABC network. First Sarasota Baptist church makes biblical teachings accessible to everyone. I love this church! Comment: Went there for Christmas singing tree show. I was surprised by the amount of talent, from the orchestra members, choir and drama team.. i absolutely enjoyed this show. Will be coming back for Christmas eve service.

Comment: I had to request a Sunday off after working overtime no vacation for years to get to church. I didnt feel like it but I read after being diagnosed with high blood pressure and especially type 2 diabetes a person feels their life is over. Ill further my education or something and work 3 to 11 to have Sunday off or something. Its a privilege to get to church.

Comment: The Word of God is truly taught here. The Pastor teaches the message of the Holy Bible in his preaching, and applies the Word to our every day modern lives. This church has so many compassionate ministries to help church members, local community members (especially homeless people), and people around the word who are suffering in terrible circumstances. They have Bible study classes for little kids, students, adults, and seniors. There is something for everyone here. There are ministries for moms. This is truly a church that has a heart for serving and for teaching Gods word.

Comment: We were in Sarasota because someone offered their home to us because of Hurricane Florence. We attended First Baptist the second Sunday we were here and found it to be a wonderful church. The few people that we did get to talk to were so friendly and went out of their way to help us find where the nursery was and how to get to the sanctuary. There was a visitor pavilion outside but I had already struck up a conversation with a lovely lady taking her great grandchildren to the nursery. The pastors message was WONDERFUL. It was about being a living sacrifice. The music and the young man on the piano were worth going to hear if for no other reason. Very mission minded and would certainly go again.

Comment: Good Bible teaching, and by far some of the warmest sweetest people you can find. I was struggling with finding my car once and a couple not only helped me but drove me around in their car till I found it. I have also had multiple people invite me to their homes who barely knew me. I have seen that warmth and kindness multiple times at this church from complete strangers. They practice what they preach, without neglecting the teaching all of the Word.

Comment: A great blessing to attend; preaching is exceptional. Bible study for all ages, couples, singles, and youth. Numerous short-term mission trips available. I found the adult Bible studies to be conservative and in depth: in short, just right!
