Comment: I am new to this area and I was trying to find a church closer than my church in my hometown of St.Pete , however it looks like I’ll simply be making the 45 min drive to my church as this church is simply not welcoming to me . I was a first time visitor and It has nothing to do with the congregation but the ushers need some work . Do not force people to sit where they don’t want to sit. You don’t know if one has anxiety , PTSD, or claustrophobia. However I would strongly advise that if one picks a seat let them sit there and be at ease as long as it not reserved for anyone . Focus on the bigger picture .

Comment: I truly enjoy this church, I have been attending this church virtually for a few years and became a member approximately 3 years ago. We are a military family and have been living out the area for 6 years. We have tried other churches but it just never felt the same. I enjoy this church because Pastor Jomo reminds us that we are not perfect but we serve a perfect God. The issue I had with other churches and/or its members were that I didnt fit in. I was either judged by the color of my skin, the clothes I wear or other factors. I love that he doesnt preach directly from the bible and read scriptures the entire time but he makes the messages relatable to the real world. Things we actually are experiencing, I love that there are sermons relating to relationships, marriages. Those sermons about marriages gave me a different perspective on my husband being the head of the household and serving our spouses. There are teens classes, financial classes, classes for single on finding the right person, classes on grief. It isnt just about God but the total concept , they focus on you as an individual, healing from a loss, healing from your past, finding peace and happiness. I could go on for days, but I do enjoy LFCC, I love that Pastor Jomo and Pastor Charmaine ( First Lady) are real about their life experiences as a couple. I love Friday night live . For 13 + years, he dedicated his mornings for prayer and I look forward to it every morning while I am doing pt. Those scriptures were a reminder of who I am and who I serve during my most difficult times and has gotten me through so much . I am not a holier than though person, I have flaws and imperfections and truly know that being apart of this church has changed me for the better. I had someone at work curse and yell at me and the old me yes, the old me or what Pastor J refer to as the pop off spirit would have responded but I just walked away. It felt good because I knew who I was and I knew and understand that the person was coming from a place of hurt so I prayed for him. Thank you Pastor Jomo truly for making me a better person. Honestly give it a try, when I first started I was a bit judgemental on what people wore and what the Pastor wore because of how I grew up but later learnt to remove my bias and listen to the word and trust God.

Comment: We was in love with Love First Christian Center on our first visit. We moved to Florida 2019 we didn’t have a church at the time. My cousin and her husband came down to visit a friends of theirs and they wanted to fellowship with us on a Sunday that they were here. I told her we didn’t have a church and she went on googled in our Riverview area and Love First was the first church that popped up. She said there’s a church close by you are we can meet you all there. It was Love First Christian Center. We heard Praise and Worship team singing it was absolutely amazing. And we heard the man of the hour Pastor Jomo Cousins give a word right from the Bible. That was amazing. I understood him. He brought the word of God alive, and his message stayed with me the whole week. My cousin said if I were y’all , this is where y’all belong this is your church right here. And we never left. We join Love First Christian Center since October 2019. The name fit it perfectly. We hear “Love God, Love people, Love First. We knew it was a place for us, and we thank God for leading us here to where we didn’t have to look all over Florida for a church. God let the church find us. Let Church say Amen!

There is children ministry for the younger children so they can learn about Jesus on their age levels, and there is a teen ministry that does the same. I love these 2 aspects as those were important factors for me visiting and choosing LFCC. I wanted a biblical based church because I had a strong desire to grow and develop on my spiritual path and I have found that at LFCC, which is a teaching church. Our pastor hardly gets past 20 words without injecting a scripture. So if you were thinking that something he said is not in the bible, surprise, hes quoting where it came from. (biblical based) He doesnt teach over your head, if you know what I mean. He breaks it down so all can understand. There are classes for all and it meets you where you are. I am pleased to have found this church. It is what I need and I look forward to my growth and development. Our pastor has a sense of humor; he is not dry and boring, and I love it when he introduces props into his sermon, as you get a realistic awareness (better known as make it live). The people are warm and friendly and eager for the word. They greet you with a smile and say hello.If you are looking for a bible-based church filled with warmth, check us out!

Then while driving down 301 I saw the billboard with Pastor Jomo on it, at the point I took it as a sign and decided to attend the 1145 service with my cousin. We both fell in love with the service and the kindness we were met with from the members. The spirit of God is in that place. I am a work in progress. The atmosphere is inviting for all demographics, races, socioeconomic classes, etc. The early service is the best because it’s not crowded. Comment: I really enjoyed my first visit at Love 1st Christian center after that I visited the church a few more times .Everyone was very welcoming the Pastor J Cousins always have an awesome message to be received.He don’t only preach the word, but also teach the word I became a member on May 21,2022 to God be the Glory Amen.🙏🏽😊🙌🏽

Comment: I was looking for a home church and I went to LFC the 1st time back in January. I literally knew from the 1st time that I was in the right place! I love this place. My Husband and I look forward to going every week. Its very often that when I attend I leave in tears because the spirit of LOVE is all around. Comment: I have become a new person in that I am TRULY seeking God’s word every morning. Through Pastor Jomo’s teachings I am delighted and encouraged to add and promote recalling scriptures into my daily routine. Like today for instance:Prayer Life book Chapter 58 page 307-309. The format of it is just the type of assistance one needs in supplication of the word to the mind and spirit. I can attest to the fact that God covers me, His Word tells me this. I go to Jesus who is my strength and source of deliverance. He avails me, He speaks on my behalf. His actions tell me this everyday, I am reminded of his Love and dedication over my life with even the tiniest hints (a sudden smile from someone or a kind gesture, even my favorite color depicted in a weed or flower as I walk along a path).Lord.. Jesus I spoke to you when I needed help getting nearer to you and you spoke to my heart and spirit and introduced me to Dr. Jomo Cousins and the Prayer Life. In his words, My life will never be the same after hearing and doing the Living Word Of God.

Comment: I was so please with this church here! Pastor Jomo is so down to earth and real! What I like most about this church besides the 45 min sermons is the fact that I visited the church and a staff member called me a few days later, just to check up on me and see how I was doing! We literally talked for about 15 mins and it felt GOOD!!! Even though I belong to another church home I will visit this church often! Please continue to do GREAT things!!!!

Comment: I will admit, I usually am not trusting of church, church folks, pastors or Christians. I went into this church completely expecting nothing. I figure “here goes another pastor on a get rich plan” or “here goes another bunch of judgmental saints” I am very pleased to say, at love first, Love is always first. This church gives back to the community, both its members and nonmembers. The people here are real... real sinners saved by grace. I am so glad God placed me here to grow and serve. Comment: My family and I have been members of this church for about 7yrs. I love the church services, morning prayer and fellowshipping with believers. If I cant make it to the building I tune in online usually via Facebook. Pastor Jomo Cousin and his wife are so relatable and great role models of how to walk out life putting Love 1st. Comment: My family and I moved here a year ago and were looking for a church home. Well, needless to say, I found a church HOME for my family in which we ALL love. I have attended this church three times so far and I am in absolute awe of this church! The pastor and first lady seem to be very real, very down to earth, have a great sense of humor and give a great sermon for the word of God. I have left the church feeling spiritually fed each time and what is even better is my 10 year old son says he enjoys the service too. He has recited a few things back to me about the sermon and actively listens and participates during the service. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. They have a lot of different ministries and church functions for families, couples, youth and etc. In the last sermon, the pastor said he is not looking to save the ones who are already saved, he is looking to save the ones who are not saved To understand the word of God is to know the power of those words and it truly revealed his true character of what he wants for his church and church family. Oh and beware, this church is a no judgement free zone so come as you are and trust me when I say, you will be spiritually fed once you leave the building.

Comment: I enjoy this church so much. I love the way the paster teaches us the word of God. I may not make it church every Sunday but I do my best to watch it live. I want to Thank the Pastor for his teaching at Bible Study this past week. That message was for me for sure. I was just crying about why Im not in a relationship and why I cant find a good man to be part of my life. After hearing the message it had me realize Im not Whole and I need to be Whole so God can help me go thru this journey. Ive been depressed for the last 3 yrs after having to retire from the military when I only had 4 years to go to make 20 yrs. I finally had to leave all things in gods hands and just let him lead me to his way. I feel this church will help me. Love First Thank you for all your teaching and the great things you are doing for your church. I will be joining this church real soon. Please keep me in pray that I stay on Gods Journey and not get lost in the World again.

Comment: My husband and I joined Love First about 8 years ago when it was on Dixon drive. We immediately knew we found a home church. Pastor Jomo and his wife are two of the most genuine and loving people. Pastor Jomo preaches the word in a way that is very relatable and refreshing. There is a strong family community and they go above and beyond for people. I honestly could not believe the one negative review I read because it is not accurate at all but the devil is a liar.
